Every order placed at Kogan.com relies on the platforms this team owns. From inventory and fulfilment through to financial operations, you'll lead the engineering teams responsible for keeping these critical systems reliable, scalable and ready for the future.

This is a technical leadership role where you'll drive engineering execution, technical strategy and people leadership across two teams responsible for our Order Management and Financial Operations platforms.

You'll coach engineers, provide technical direction, guide architectural decisions and partner with stakeholders across the business. In a fast-paced, operational environment, you'll balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day priorities, ensuring the team stays focused on the highest-impact work while keeping stakeholders informed of progress and trade-offs.

You'll drive operational excellence, improve engineering practices and ensure our platforms remain resilient, scalable and well supported.

What you'll own:

  • Lead, coach and grow two engineering teams, including Tech Leads and senior engineers.
  • Own delivery across SAP Business One and PSI, maintaining clear priorities, healthy backlogs and predictable roadmaps.
  • Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, Warehouse and Product to translate business needs into technical outcomes.
  • Drive operational excellence through effective incident management and a pragmatic balance between delivery, support and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical leadership by guiding architecture, coaching engineers and promoting engineering best practices.
  • Improve documentation, engineering standards and knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Continuously improve delivery, system reliability and team performance.

What you'll need:

  • 3+ years' experience leading software engineering teams, ideally managing six or more engineers.
  • Strong delivery and stakeholder management skills in a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • The technical depth to earn engineers' trust and make informed trade-offs across ERP, integrations and operational systems.
  • Experience with SAP Business One or a similar ERP or enterprise platform is highly regarded.
  • A track record of building high-performing teams, developing people and improving engineering delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm, decisive and customer-focused during incidents.

More about the role:
 
While no two days are ever the same, as an Engineering Manager you will establish and maintain great stakeholder relationships, provide coaching and mentoring to engineers reporting to you, oversee the delivery of initiatives, monitor operational performance, manage technical risks and contribute to company wide technical discussions and initiatives. You will be able to pragmatically balance short and long term considerations as well as technical and commercial ones while strengthening our engineering culture.
 
You will form a part of the leadership team for your area and will be jointly accountable for the health, happiness and performance of your team. You will contribute positively to the culture of the team, build engagement and morale, be involved in recruiting, set structure and processes and generally help build and maintain a high performing team. You will use your skills and experience to guide and support our next group of technology leaders.
