What You Will Get To Do:           

The AU Transfer Agency (TA) engineering teams play a crucial role in driving and delivering SS&C’s global TA technology strategy. Our product suite includes large backend systems, digital web front ends, and connectivity interfaces with industry partners. These products are utilized by investors and advisors for investment purposes, as well as by internal users for administering managing funds. We have several agile teams working closely with business operations and clients to enhance our offerings and execute our product strategy.

As an Engineering Manager you will work closely with Product Managers, BAs, Tech Leads and relevant business teams to deliver the TA product strategy and roadmap. You will also closely collaborate with your peers and your manager in executing key engineering initiatives to build a high-performance engineering organization.

  • Delivery leadership:
    • Run an agile engineering delivery team that practices Scrum.
    • Oversee the planning, execution and delivery of the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with the SS&C TA’s key business and technology goals.
    • Collaborate with other engineering and business teams to define requirements, scope and timelines
    • Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products and solutions.
  • Engineering leadership
    • Manage the ‘build and ‘run’ for software products owned by the team using Agile and DevOps principles.
    • Facilitate technical decision-making in your team by empowering your team to take responsibility and be accountable for their decisions
    • Drive continual improvement in engineering practices
  • People / Team leadership
    • Measure, develop and implement strategies to enhance team performance and productivity
    • Lead, mentor and coach a team of software engineers, business analysts and quality engineers and foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and build a feedback culture in teams
  • Product leadership
    • Demonstrate strong Business acumen (Product-mindset and Customer empathy) and coach team members these skills
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Champion a culture of Continuous Improvement & Innovation, adaptability, and relentless focus on building the best product

What You Will Bring:

  • Strong people leadership and management skills
  • Strong agile background with deep knowledge of Scrum
  • 10+ years of experience in an equivalent software delivery role e.g. business analyst, engineer, tester.
  • 4+ years in an Engineering Management or equivalent role.
  • Experience in a technical software delivery role with broad knowledge across a range of engineering concepts such as Continuous Delivery, DevOps.
  • Passion for fostering a positive and high-performing team environment
  • Proven experience in owning and delivering successful products, balancing strategic vision with execution
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively across teams and disciplines
  • A passion for tackling challenging problems and delivering products that make a meaningful impact
  • High EQ – self-aware, self-regulated, motivated and empathetic
  • Qualification or Training in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
