We're looking for an Engineering Manager to join the Content Ranking Backend team at Snap!
What you’ll do:
Manage and mentor a team of engineers working on the feed recommendation user-facing service foundation
Set the strategy, build a roadmap, create measurable goals, and lead your team to alter the tech debt accumulated in content recommendation services, as well as decoupling ranking and product development
Bring Snap’s content recommendation systems to surpass industry north stars
Collaborate with broader core and ML infra teams to build a strategic roadmap and solid adoption sequence with limited resources across the board
Hire, grow, and retain high-performing team members
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Background in building high availability and mission-critical systems
Experience leading an engineering team
Ability leading and executing large, complex technical initiatives
Experience driving highly cross-functional efforts
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience
8+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or a Master’s degree in a technical field + 7+ years of post-grad software development experience; or a PhD in a related technical field + 4+ years of post-grad software development experience
1+ years of experience as a manager for an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ops-heavy systems/products
Experience with user-facing systems, especially in Search, Ads, Recommendation domains

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):
The base salary range for this position is $229,000-$343,000 annually.
Zone B:
The base salary range for this position is $218,000-$326,000 annually.Zone C:
The base salary range for this position is $195,000-$292,000 annually. This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
