The world’s biggest challenge needs you, here.
Big challenges require big solutions. And the transition to a net-zero world is about as big as it gets. Working at Shell Energy - one of Australia’s leading energy retailers - puts you at the heart of that endeavour.
Lead the change, from the frontline
At Shell Energy, we’re looking for a skilled and forward-thinking .NET Engineer with strong AWS expertise to help build and maintain the IT systems and infrastructure that power our business. Based in Melbourne, this critical role will see you design, develop, and support applications that operate reliably, securely, and efficiently across our business.
You’ll work at the forefront of emerging technologies, enabling innovation while improving our systems to meet evolving business needs. Joining the Customer Engagement Platform team, you’ll report to the squad’s Delivery Lead and be part of a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing environment.
If you’re experienced in .NET development, AWS cloud solutions and thrive in dynamic environments, we’d love to hear from you.
With respect, integrity and honesty, responsibilities include:
Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using .NET technologies
Design and implement cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS)
Monitor and maintain application performance, security, and availability, triaging and resolving incidents effectively
Collaborate with the squad to estimate, deliver, and document engineering tasks
Ensure solutions are secure and compliant with Shell Energy’s standards (firewalls, identity/access controls, etc.)
Support users with technical issues, ensuring smooth adoption of software and systems
Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including configurations, manuals, and procedures
Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:
Essential: Hands-on experience with .NET (C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET)
Essential: Proven expertise in AWS cloud services and DevOps pipelines for deployment and management
Strong understanding of security, infrastructure, and containerisation (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (design, querying, backup, recovery)
Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and using version control (e.g., Git, CI/CD practices)
Ideally, experience in software marketing for mass consumer applications. Bridging the gap between technical product development and market adoption
Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills, able to engage stakeholders effectively
Resilient and adaptable, committed to continuous learning and professional growth.
