The Secure Communication System (SCS) program has been providing secure network solutions to Defence and Government customers for over a decade. The product suite provides easy to use and intuitive remote access connectivity to enterprise networks from anywhere in the world, utilising public and private network bearers to simultaneously access multiple classified domains.
Your Role:
As a Principal Engineer DevOps, you will lead the transformation of our processes and infrastructure to enable rapid deployment of new capabilities while ensuring a stable security posture and incorporating continuous stakeholder feedback. Your mission is to integrate and enhance development pipelines through robust automation, utilising test-driven development tools and continuous integration/test frameworks.
You'll master advanced provisioning and deployment techniques such as packaging, componentising, or cloud distribution. Operating under agile principles, you will drive efficiency and effectiveness in an environment geared towards continuous improvement. Your expertise will also be crucial in implementing Software Configuration Management (SCM), maintaining high standards of code quality, and ensuring comprehensive code coverage with automated testing for seamless Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
About You:
You are a dynamic DevOps Engineer with demonstrated experience in DevOps and DevSecOps, backed by a solid understanding of Linux environments. You excel in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining infrastructure that supports cutting-edge product development. Your collaborative spirit thrives in environments that value excellence, and you are adept at working closely with both software development teams and broader DevSecOps and Infrastructure groups.
Your technical skills are proven, with expertise in Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab Repositories, Terraform, Ansible, Robot Framework, and virtualisation platforms like VMware vSphere. You are proficient in Bash scripting, Makefiles, and Python, and experienced in managing workflows using tools like JIRA. Holding relevant qualifications or certifications in Computer Science or Software Engineering, you are committed to contributing to all aspects of health, safety, environmental, and quality management.
