SQL Server Administration
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Microsoft SQL Server environments.
- Manage and support SQL Server instances across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
- Perform database provisioning, migration, refresh, and lifecycle management activities.
- Ensure database availability, integrity, and performance across all supported environments.
- Design and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
- Perform database backup, restoration, and disaster recovery testing.
- Configure and support database replication technologies.
- Implement and manage database security, including user access, roles, permissions, and encryption.
- Monitor database health, availability, and performance.
- Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks involving queries, indexes, memory, storage, and server resources.
- Implement indexing strategies and performance tuning best practices.
- Conduct capacity planning and recommend optimization opportunities.
- Configure and maintain database monitoring and alerting solutions.
- Monitor SQL Agent Jobs, database health indicators, server utilization, and infrastructure alerts.
- Investigate incidents and ensure timely resolution of performance and availability issues.
- Support High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions.
- Support SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, and Replication.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and validation activities.
- Ensure business continuity through effective HA/DR practices.
- Implement database and server security controls.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and hardening practices.
- Participate in vulnerability remediation and security audits.
- Develop scripts and automation solutions using PowerShell and/or Python.
- Automate routine DBA and server administration tasks.
- Improve monitoring, maintenance, and deployment processes.
- Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge articles.
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, and security stakeholders.
