Job Description:

The Eligibility Officer will be required to make decisions on whether to accept, or reject claims, and transition claims to appropriate Case Managers for ongoing management. The role will also calculate PIAWE, advise Dispute Resolutions Managers for rationale for original decisions and identify the recovery potential of claims. Your strength in technical knowledge of the relevant legislation and resilience to achieve business and Worksafe objectives, through utilisation of your analytical and communication capability will see your success in this position.

Required Expertise

  • 2 years or more experience in initial claims assessment (Case Manager), or 1 year or more in a paralegal or legal assistant position

  • Strong working knowledge of Workplace Injury Rehabilitation & Compensation Act 2013 and associated Regulations, and/or a Legal Qualification

  • WorkCover scheme

  • Teamwork

  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change

  • Concern for others

  • Ability to follow rules and regulations

  • Computer skills - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ACCtion and Novus, or similar case management system
