Position Summary

Epiq solves problems faced by the legal profession when managing high volumes of complex electronic data. We serve corporations and law firms around the world in practice areas spanning bankruptcy, litigation, class action, mass tort, antitrust, investigations and regulatory compliance. As a document reviewer, you will be an integral part of a team tasked with reviewing documents used in litigation, during audits, and for regulatory enquiries. You will use a cloud-based eDiscovery platform to review documents and code them according to instructions given to you by your manager and our clients. Successful candidates are team players with a professional work ethic who have an interest in the electronic discovery industry. Our clients have a regular pipeline of projects and an ongoing need for document review lawyers. These roles can vary in length and provide a great opportunity to broaden your legal experience. Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Undertakes review and analysis of documents in an electronic database to determine relevance to issues under investigation, including confidentiality and privilege.
  • Receives training, direction, and oversight from project managers and/or outside counsel for each project.
  • Provided with full training on the review software and substantive issues of the case to determine coding decisions.
  • May be asked to perform quality control of reviewed documents, or undertake a “second level” of review for additional issues.
  • Document types typically include email and MS Office but may also include scanned hardcopy.
  • Technical elements of the position will vary by project and client specifications.

Required Qualifications & Characteristics:

  • Legal qualification in at least one jurisdiction required, although a current practicing certificate is not necessary.
  • Prior litigation and document review experience strongly preferred but not essential.
  • Technical or subject matter experience may be required depending on the requirements of a particular project.
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude is a must.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
