WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The Director, Sportswear Specialty Sales Pacific will be part of the Pacific Nike Marketplace Partners (Wholesale) leadership team, reporting to the Senior Director, Nike Marketplace Partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing critical external stakeholder relationships with the Sportswear Specialty partners (Accent Group & Sportswear Authenticators) as the key conduit and connection point between our Strategic Global & Pacific Key Partners and the Nike brand. In this role you will work with a large, diverse team internally across Pacific & the region through Nike Sales, Merchandising, Planning, Marketing, Legal and Operations.

As a critical driver for growth for the Pacific business the Sportswear Specialty Partners play an integral role in the Nike Pacific Marketplace of the future.

As the Director, Sportswear Specialty Sales Pacific for our Sportswear Specialty Partners, we are looking for a commercially minded leader with a strong understanding of the Aus/NZ Retail landscape. The successful candidate will have extensive experience working with external customers/stakeholders, a deep understanding of retail and wholesale, and demonstrable experience leading and uniting cross functional teams around a clear vision.

The Director, Sportswear Specialty Sales Pacific will be confident and proven in your ability to create, lead and drive multiple account strategies to extend the reach of our brand and elevate our partner business in collaboration with multiple partners to better serve consumers. We are looking for someone who is comfortable dealing with account conversations, commercial & retail metrics and presenting, influencing and working with external retail partners. Director, Sportswear Specialty Sales Pacific will also show experience in navigating internal stakeholders both locally and globally in managing business results and strategy.

This position requires a self-motivated leader with a deep retail, consumer centric and commercial knowledge base. You must be a strategic problem solver with preferred experience in account management or retail leadership and be able to drive win/win retail and commercial outcomes.

  • Bachelor’s degree, in a relevant subject or a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a relevant role or industry with a focus on Retail, Sales, Merchandising or similar.
  • Retail or commercial management and marketplace expertise in retail stores, sales, digital, product, partner management and financial acumen will be highly regarded.
  • Understanding of the Pacific sport and retail landscape, knowledge of sports & lifestyle apparel and footwear market is preferred.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive can-do approach.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple external senior leadership stakeholders at once. 
  • Strong and demonstrated ability to partner, influence and communicate effectively in a highly complex matrix environment with multiple business functions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of retail / business / commercial metrics and KPIs. Ability to interpret sales and analytics data to make decisions and recommendations that impact the business.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

People appreciate your strategic thinking, retail and wholesale acumen and ability to proactively handle customer conversations, communicate a vision and purpose, drive growth and keep teams focused and engaged on clear process, KPIS and outcomes. In your role as Director, Sportswear Specialty Sales Pacific you will:

  • Forge on the ground head office relationships with Accent Group, and our Sportswear Authenticators to engender goodwill, deeper understanding of the Nike strategic direction & ensure the premium execution of the Nike brand at retail.
  • Co-create, own and champion the Accent Group Strategic Plan to drive growth, elevate the consumer journey in multiple banners and expand brand presence & market share.
  • Lead the cross functional team through the seasonal execution of Go To Market (GTM) gates and customer alignment to drive seasonal priorities.
  • Drive sustainable, mutual profitable growth and elevate Nike within the retail landscape.
  • Deliver the Business: Direct accountability to deliver on key seasonal and FY sales, revenue and inventory metrics.
  • Collaborate, align and drive retail and operational capabilities required to deliver on the integrated marketplace vision.
  • Drive internal alignment and own key processes including strategic planning, franchise contract management, seasonal sell in execution, trading terms/levers, business performance reviews, proactive orderbook management & growth alignment.
  • Lead, coach and develop direct reports.
