We’re Civica and we make software that helps deliver critical services for citizens all around the world. From local to state government, to education, to health and care, over 5,000 public bodies across the globe use our software to help provide critical services to over 100 million citizens.
Our aspiration is to be a GovTech champion everywhere we work around the globe, supporting the needs of citizens and those that serve them every day. Building on 21 years of continuous growth and success, we're at a pivotal point on our journey to realise that aspiration.
As a company, we’re passionate about what we do and the citizens we help to serve. If you too would like to help champion the use of technology in public services, to improve outcomes for citizens and public sector organisations, then Civica is the right place for you. We will help you unlock the best version of yourself, achieve growth in your career whilst making a real difference to people and communities.
Why you will love this opportunity as Director of Development at Civica
As our Director of Development for Civica Justice Services (CJS), you will play a central leadership role in ensuring our engineering and testing teams are fully aligned to Civica’s Test‑Driven Development (TDD) approach and broader technical strategy. You’ll guide high‑performing, multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver secure, reliable, and high‑quality solutions that directly support CJS outcomes.
In this role, you’ll influence how our products evolve, strengthen engineering excellence, and embed Agile best practice across the function. You’ll also help drive consistency in development practices across CJS, ensuring our teams remain closely aligned to the standards used across the wider Civica organisation.
Because this role is focused specifically on the CJS portfolio, it offers a unique blend of strategic influence and hands‑on leadership within a more defined scope—allowing you to make a measurable impact on engineering quality, delivery cadence, and customer outcomes.
If you’re passionate about purposeful technology, motivated by building strong engineering culture, and excited about shaping high‑value solutions for the justice sector, this is a meaningful and rewarding career opportunity.
