About the role
We are seeking a Digital Integration Engineering Manager to lead the design, development and operations of Transurban’s digital integration eco-system. Sitting within our Customer & Tech -Digital team, this role is responsible for providing technical and people leadership to deliver outcomes across API development, customer facing channels integration platforms and inter-system connectivity.
You will be instrumental in shaping reusable integration frameworks/patterns, driving DevSecOps practices, while delivering innovative solutions. Your work ensures that Transurban’s digital products connect seamlessly with core systems and third parties, delivering secure, scalable and future-focused integration solutions.
Day-to-day, you will:
- Strong and first-hand experience in developing Integration Frameworks and patterns while considering the operational impact of solutions
- Oversee the delivery of customer-facing APIs, microservices and integration solutions across cloud and hybrid environments
- Lead a high-performing team of developers and integration specialists, ensuring continuous improvement and technical excellence with the use of AI and associated tools
- Collaborate with architecture, security, platform and product teams to design and deliver end-to-end integration solutions
- Promote the adoption of DevSecOps and Agile practices to support continuous integration and delivery
- Ensure software development aligns with Transurban’s design, architecture and quality standards
- Review and enhance system designs, API contracts and service security in line with evolving technical needs
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure external partners deliver to technical specifications and compliance expectations
- Diagnose and resolve integration or performance issues, supporting solution assurance and risk management
- Contribute to Transurban’s development communities of practice, sharing knowledge and improving practice maturity
- Support incident response, change management and release planning for integration services
- Ensure compliance with SDLC controls, risk and governance requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation and lifecycle management of integration assets
This role requires someone who possesses:
- Extensive experience in software engineering, digital integration and enterprise application delivery
- Proven expertise in API design, microservice architecture and integration with internal and third-party systems
- Demonstrated leadership of technical teams, vendors and software delivery partners
- Strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, OAuth2/OpenID and cloud integration services and tools such as GitHub/GitHub copilot, JIRA
- Sound knowledge of AWS/Google architecture/services
- Understanding of secure software development and PCI-DSS compliance standards
- Ability to work with DevSecOps, Agile, CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native platforms
- A collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement and solution design
- Tertiary qualifications in Computing, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to drive outcomes and promote best practice
