Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Tony Ayres Productions ('TAP'), part of Matchbox Pictures is a multi award-winning television production company with offices in Melbourne. A creative-led company, it is renowned for making world class content for global audiences, including Clickbait (Netflix), The Spooky Files S1 & S2 (ABC), Fires (ABC) and the upcoming series The Survivors (Netflix).
Job Description
As part of the TAP Development team this role works closely with the Head of Development, TAP and Tony Ayres to deliver the operational management of the TAP scripted slate. The Development Coordinator, TAP has overall responsibility for managing systems, admin, logistics, tracks legal documents and finance matters through to execution. This position requires an efficient administrator to facilitate the smooth-running of the TAP Development slate and act as the central point of contact for queries internally and externally.
This is an initial 9 months fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work closely with the Head of Development, TAP to coordinate and track all idea submissions (external and internal), so that at any point in time there is the ability to update key stakeholders as to where an idea is at
  • Ensure that projects are processed through the department in a timely manner-Work closely with the Head of Development, TAP to manage the TAP Slate including drafting budgets, scripting schedules and arranging writers' rooms (including drafting contracts and arranging travel)
  • Liaise with finance department to ensure smooth processing of invoices and tracking contracting across all development projects
  • Facilitating the submission, delivery and acquittal of development funding applications through the various funding bodies
  • Designing and prepping pitch documents to take to market
  • Maintain systems and reports to enable an efficient and systematic workflow to meet agreed timeframes.
  • Assist with the management of trainees and attachments that work with TAP

Qualifications
REQUIRED
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including a keen attention to detail, the ability to work speedily and accurately under pressure, prioritise tasks appropriately, meet deadlines and respond flexibly to competing demands.
  • Keen interest in scripted development and production
  • Skills/interest in other creative areas; graphic and visual design.
  • An awareness of the domestic and international market for scripted television.
  • A positive perspective on ideas with an ability to contribute to a creative conversation across a broad range of genres and critique constructively.
  • Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal with staff at all levels and external contacts.
  • A self-starter who is motivated, inquisitive, flexible, creative, collaborative and hard-working.
  • Excellent computer skills including strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and the full Adobe Suite
