Where the team fits in
This role sits in within the Property Engine squad which is part of the Consumer, Product & Audience, Property Owner tribe they are a full-stack team with capabilities across Web and Back-end.
The squad mainly work on enhancing or building award winning Consumer experiences around the Property Profile pages which are one of REA’s most highly trafficked pages. Our capabilities stretch across all platforms and back-end, ensuring that we deliver consistent, valuable and exciting features to wherever the Consumer prefers to engage with REA.
What the role is all about
As a Developer, you will be working collaboratively with our Product, Design and Technology team members by lending your expertise and opinions towards the build of our Consumer features.
The Developer supports the team in the following ways:
- Design and implement versatile Web and Back-end capabilities that can be seamlessly integrated across our front-end experiences
- Contribute to delivery planning and technical design by evaluating options, effort, and quality considerations
- Stay updated with the latest technological advancements to guide product and technical design
- Actively participate in the continuous improvement of products, technology, processes, and team development
- Support the Lead Developer / Principal Developer / Senior Developers / Developers in maintaining high code quality and fostering effective teamwork
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design high-quality solutions that effectively address user needs
Who we’re looking for
- Passionate about frontend/backend development with a keen eye for attention to detail
- Proficient in programming with Typescript, Kotlin, with Scala as a bonus
- Capable understanding of Event Driven Architecture & Microservices
- Working experience with AWS, Kafka, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Docker, BuildKite
- Skilled in software development practices, including functional programming, object-oriented programming, continuous integration/delivery, MVVM and test-driven development
- Proven ability to thrive in collaborative environments
- Approaches complex problems with a solutions-oriented mindset
- Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, agile setting
