Our Purpose
At Xero, we’re here to help you supercharge your business. We do this by automating routine tasks, surfacing actionable insights and connecting businesses with the right data, advisors and apps. When that happens, we’re not only making life better for small business, we’ll be building a stronger economy that can change the world.
As a member of the Business Operations team, your primary focus is on Design Operations and will involve connecting Design to Xero's operational nervous system. This integration will empower senior leaders to implement Xero’s strategy and deliver customer value.
You will make an impact working with a team of Operations Managers, across our geographically dispersed Design teams. You’ll thrive working across a broad portfolio and with a range of diverse stakeholders, building strong relationships with a keen ability to zone in on the most important opportunities.
What you'll do
- You will be a trusted and collaborative member of the Business Operations team and a safe pair of hands across a wide portfolio of work.
- Drive strategic optimisation within the Design Practice by collaborating on key initiatives, and evolving our ways of working with the Senior Operations Manager and peers. Creating and maintaining efficient workflows to cut down on repeatable tasks, driving consistency and scalability.
- Establish and maintain consistent conventions for documenting, naming, managing and storing files to drive alignment, adoption and more efficient onboarding of new members.
- Independently deliver projects that explore, co-design and test new ways of working for Product Design using Human Centred Design (HCD) methodologies.
- Manage planning, scheduling, documentation and communications for Product Design training programs eg. Digital Accessibility training.
- Initiate, assess, implement, monitor and offboard design software tools.
- Managing the engagement of external contractors where needed. Interfacing with finance and procurement teams to onboard and pay vendors, including facilitating statements of work and negotiating business terms and budget.
- At times, assist and provide cover to peers in Business Operations (BizOps) and Research Operations (ReOps).
What you'll bring with you
- 3+ years experience in operations, project, delivery or product roles, with design sector experience preferred.
- Experience working with high performing teams in a fast paced environment.
- Proven ability to build relationships and communicate with a wider variety of stakeholders.
- Experience in delivery of a wide range of work and balancing priorities.
- Experience in procurement & change processes including negotiating budget, scope & terms of business.
- Experience in using Figma, ideal – but not mandatory.
