Lead and scale the product design team at Blinq, focusing on mobile-first design and influencing overall product strategy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive user engagement improvements.
            What is Blinq?
Blinq is building the fastest, most intuitive way to share who you are and remember who you meet. What started as the world’s #1 digital business card is now the starting point for over 50 million new relationships a year - and growing at unicorn pace.
Our vision is to build the world’s intelligence layer for professional relationships - one that remembers for you, prompts when it matters, and keeps you in play. If that’s the kind of scale and ambition you want to be part of, you’re in the right place.
Why You’ll Love It Here
• Rapid growth: Doubling ARR every few months, expanding our product surface, and rapidly building our team across Sydney, San Francisco, Melbourne, and New York.
• Well-resourced: $45m+ raised from the likes of Blackbird, Touring Capital, Hubspot Ventures, and Square Peg - we’re continuously investing in the people and tools that fuel our mission.
• A rare moment to join: We’re hitting an inflection point - big enough to have momentum, small enough for you to shape the journey.
• Customers love it: 140k+ reviews and a 4.9/5 rating on the App Store - people around the world rely on Blinq to make that first interaction count.
• We work in person, on purpose: We believe creativity and energy are better face-to-face - so we spend 3 days a week in the office and the rest where you work best.
Product at Blinq
Our Product team turns bold ideas into seamless experiences that people use in their most important moments - introducing themselves, making a first impression, staying top of mind. We obsess over the details that transform a quick “hello” into the start of a lasting relationship. If you love creating intuitive, high-impact products that redefine how people connect, let’s build it together.
Role & Impact
We’re looking for a Design Manager to lead and scale our product design team. You’ll shape how design influences everything at Blinq — with a strong focus on mobile-first design.
This is a leadership role for someone who blends creative vision with operational excellence — a designer who can elevate user experience, champion design systems, and empower a team of talented product and visual designers.
What You'll Do
- Lead, mentor, and grow a multi-disciplinary team of product and mobile designers
- Define and drive the design vision across Blinq’s app, web, and platform experiences
- Champion mobile-first principles — ensuring design decisions optimize for usability, performance, and delight on iOS and Android
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Brand to shape strategy and align on goals
- Oversee the evolution of Blinq’s Design System — ensuring consistency across mobile and web
- Foster a culture of research, experimentation, and user empathy across teams
- Present design strategy and rationale to leadership, balancing innovation with business needs
- Drive measurable improvements to user engagement, retention, and overall experience quality.
What You'll Bring
- 8+ years of experience in Product Design, with at least 3 years in a lead or management role
- A strong portfolio showcasing mobile design leadership — shipping consumer-facing apps at scale (ideally on iOS and Android)
- Deep understanding of design systems, interaction design, and design operations
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a collaborative and inclusive approach
- Comfort navigating fast-paced environments and scaling teams in growth-stage companies
- Proficiency with modern design tools (Figma, Notion, Miro, etc.)
What You Get
We hold a high bar and move with intent. You’ll get the clarity, trust, and ownership to meet it - and a team that pushes to do the best work of our lives. We back that with:
• Equity & ownership: We’re building something massive, and we want you to share in the upside. Genuinely.
• Competitive salary & growth path: As Blinq grows, your role and compensation grow with it - no glass ceilings here.
• Generous paid time off: At least 20 days fully disconnect each year, with a flexible policy beyond that.
• Parental leave that grows with you: 12 to 26 weeks full pay, based on tenure.
• Free food: Enjoy daily breakfast and lunch at some of our offices, plus an always-stocked snack bar.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene
Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
