The opportunity 

Join our Governance & Performance Division as a Data Science Specialist supporting the Data & Performance team. In these two newly created roles, you’ll help our national portfolio managers and pricing teams make confident, data‑driven decisions by building reports, monitoring performance, identifying emerging trends and delivering clear, actionable insights. These new roles offer the chance to shape how data informs decision‑making across the portfolio.

Your new role 

As a Data Science Specialist, your responsibilities include:

  • Collate, validate and prepare data to support portfolio and performance monitoring across the national portfolio.
  • Build regular and ad‑hoc reports for stakeholders, including national portfolio managers and the pricing team.
  • Analyse trends and outcomes to identify patterns, changes and emerging insights that inform decision‑making.
  • Provide clear, actionable insights and respond to data and performance queries from key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Data & Performance team to ensure consistency, accuracy and reliability across reporting and analysis workflows.
  • Contribute to a supportive team culture by sharing insights, improving reporting practices and supporting the delivery of performance outcomes.

About you

You bring experience in data analysis, reporting, performance insights, pricing support, portfolio analytics or early‑career data science, with a genuine interest in exploring data to understand what’s happening and helping stakeholders turn those insights into action.

You will have:

  • Experience working with data to build reports, analyse trends and generate meaningful insights.
  • Strong analytical capability with a focus on accuracy, clarity and translating findings into practical outcomes.
  • Confidence engaging with stakeholders, understanding their needs and communicating insights in a simple, effective way.
  • Ability to manage independent reporting and analysis tasks while staying organised and reliable.
  • Curiosity and initiative, with a proactive approach to exploring data and supporting portfolio performance.
  • Bonus strengths such as experience in performance reporting or pricing analytics, familiarity with tools like SQL, Excel, BI tools, Python or R, exposure to large or complex organisations, and comfort working with structured and semi‑structured data.
