Job Description:

Department/Product Overview:

McCloskey by OPIS is hiring a data processor for its online coal, iron ore and steel reporting team. This role will be part of the McCloskey suite of commodity offerings and will cover team needs across the Asia-Pacific region.

About the Role/Position:

You will work within the Australian and Asian teams to support daily publication of data, analytics and news content. The deliverables include daily and weekly compilation of data and aggregation into various tables primarily using Excel. These are then loaded onto the publishing platform.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Compiling various data into excel and producing a range of outputs such as tables, graphs, etc.
  • Managing data subscriptions for critical data
  • Meeting deadlines
  • Loading the data onto the publishing platform
  • Supporting team requirements for data visualization using tools such as PowerBI.
  • Responsible for reviewing and reimagining the business unit's data processing and presentation methods with a view to making regular recommendations to department leads on how to improve the customer experience.
  • Collaborating with reporters and editors to identify potential data-led news stories and reports

Knowledge/Experience Preferred:

  • 2-4 years of working experience of handling data on a daily basis, undergraduate degree preferable but not essential
  • Ability to create and maintain stored procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Experience with spreadsheets and commodity data analysis
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Team player
