As a Data Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and maintain robust data infrastructure and architecture to support the data ingestion from our core software products. You will play a crucial role in establishing the foundational data ingestion capability. You will work on building production-ready data pipelines that ingest key data sources into the Data Lake. This role is essential for enabling the development and scaling of new data products, ensuring the availability, integrity, and efficiency of data for product development.
Some of the awesome things you’ll be involved with:
Design and implement scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes in a serverless data platform to ingest, transform, and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
Build production-ready data pipelines specifically for ingesting existing application data into the Data Lake.
Populate both the “Raw” and “Cleaned/Governed” layers of the data platform.
Ensure the reliability and performance of ETL workflows, troubleshooting and optimising as needed.
Support the operational readiness of the data platform for future product scale-up.
Contribute to maintaining high standards of data quality and integrity across the platform.
Enable the availability of data for high-value data products.
What you will bring:
High proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
Strong proficiency in SQL, data modelling, and database management systems.
Experience designing and building data lakes and lakehouses using platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, or cloud-native services.
Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with AWS technologies is particularly relevant.
Understanding of CI/CD DevOps approach to implement data solutions.
Experience building/operating data extraction, ingestion, and processing systems.
Experience with data warehousing, and building data pipelines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
A desire to work in a collaborative, intellectually curious environment.
3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
