This role is with our Data Platforms & Engineering Team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining data platform products as Data Engineer.

This role is ideal for early to mid-career professionals who are passionate about building a career in data engineering, who would like to work across several technologies, and data products. This is an opportunity to grow and work across different tech stacks e.g. Airflow, AWS Cloud Formation, S3, ECS, Fargate, AWS Open Search, Snowflake, dbt.

Data Platforms & Engineering Team at LFS is a group of Software Engineers, Data Architects, Data Analysts, Project Managers and Product Owners who love solving organisation’s problems using Data Platforms and Data Products.

This role helps keep these data products always reliable, propose creative solutions for evolution of these products and play an important part to advise leadership on future roadmap of these products.

Our Data platforms enable single customer view and a modern Data Lake enabling realtime scalable analytics, reporting and AI/ML capabilities. Our Data Products enable organisation wide teams to deliver customer focused outcomes like Personalisation, Next Best Offer, Collections, Fraud Detection to name a few. In this role, you’ll:

  • Work with data platform and engineering team to improve whole lifecycle of data products and data services from requirements, development, deployment, operation and improvements.
  • Maintain data products once these are deployed to production by monitoring schedules, data streams, data quality, distribution and overall health.
  • Actively advise on improvements on processes, products, deployed code.
  • Ensure agreed incident response time, and participate in constructive post incident reviews.
  • Contribute to the development of baseline platform, products and scale sustainably by pushing code changes that improve reliability.

About you:

  • Proficiency in a programming language such as Python, or willingness to learn and grow into Python from other languages (i.e., Scala, Java, C#)
  • Have some experience or working knowledge of AWS technologies like ECS, S3, Cloudformation, IAM etc with ability to self learn at fast pace.
  • Good understanding of Software Engineering concepts/principles (Code Repos, Pull Requests, Development Environments, Deployment, Data Structures, Algorithms)
  • People Skills with ability to self start and work independently at times and as a team players with other team members and across the teams.
