Role Description:  

We are seeking a technically strong Analytics & Data Engineer to join our Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Engineering team. This mid-level role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in data engineering and analytics, who is ready to take ownership of technical delivery across multiple platforms and collaborate with global stakeholders.  

You will be involved across the full data lifecycle: from requirements gathering and analysis to architecture design, data pipelines, and go-life. You will leverage technologies such as SQL, Python, Postgres, and AWS. Your work will directly support our mission to detect and prevent financial crime through scalable, secure, and pro-active data solutions.  

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Data Requirements & Analytics 

  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and compliance teams to gather and translate business requirements into technical data specifications.  

  • Conduct data profiling, exploration, and root cause analysis to support solution design and regulatory reporting.  

  • Define and document data models, transformation logic, and data flows.  

  • Data Architecture & Engineering  

  • Design and implement scalable data architectures across the AWS infrastructure 

  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines. 

  • Execution & Delivery  

  • Engage with architecture and operations teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards. 

  • Work in Agile teams, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical documentation.  

  • Participate in code reviews and ensure alignment to engineering best practices.  

Required Skills & Experience:  

  • Proficiency in SQL or Python for data manipulation and data analysis. 

  • Hands-on experience with AWS services including Postgres, Step Functions, Lambda, Glue, S3 

  • Strong understanding of data modelling, schema design, and performance tuning. 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.  

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI). 

  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks. 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.  

  • Experience in financial-crime (ABC, KYC, AML, etc), banking, fintech, or regtech environments.
