Job DescriptionThe Opportunity
We're looking for a talented and curious Data Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team. This is a specialist role where you'll work at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and visualisation — turning complex data from across our business into clear, actionable insights that drive real decisions.
You'll be working in a modern, cloud-native environment — including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and Power BI — whilst playing a key role in our ongoing platform modernisation programme. If you're passionate about data, thrive in a collaborative team, and want your work to have a genuine impact on a purpose-driven organisation, this role is for you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing and building Power BI dashboards, reports, and analytical applications for senior and non-technical stakeholders across the business
- Contributing to cloud-native ETL/ELT pipeline development using Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric Pipelines, following medallion architecture patterns
- Writing advanced SQL, Python, and R for data preparation, manipulation, and analysis
- Supporting the Microsoft Fabric platform environment — including Lakehouses, Notebooks, workspace administration, data governance, and business glossary maintenance
- Responding to ad-hoc data requests and delivering accurate, practical, data-driven recommendations to the business
- Maintaining legacy SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) assets during our transition to Power BI, whilst investigating emerging technologies to drive competitive advantage
Qualifications & Experience
Education A degree or tertiary qualification in an IT-related field, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline is preferred. Candidates without a formal qualification but with strong demonstrated experience in a comparable role will be equally considered.
Experience
- Proven hands-on experience in a data analytics, business intelligence, or reporting role
- Demonstrated experience working with Power BI in a production environment — including data modelling, DAX, and report/dashboard delivery to business stakeholders
- Practical experience with SQL at an advanced level; working proficiency in Python and/or R
- Experience contributing to ETL/ELT pipeline development using Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, or equivalent cloud-native tooling
- Exposure to data governance practices, business glossary management, and data quality frameworks
- Experience working within financial services, banking, or a similarly regulated industry is desirable but not essential
Certifications The following Microsoft certifications are desirable. Candidates who are actively working toward any of these will also be well regarded:
- Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) — preferred
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) — advantageous
- Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600) — advantageous
