Role Summary:
The Credit Analyst is responsible for assessing and mitigating the financial risk associated with consumer and commercial automotive loan and unsecured personal loan applications. This role is essential to minimising risk, maintaining regulatory compliance, and verifying borrower information. The Credit Analyst's responsibilities include ensuring that credit policy and risk appetite are met and are in accordance with the NCCP Act, Responsible Lending guidelines, Privacy Act, and ASIC regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyse loan applications to assess creditworthiness, using a variety of data sources including credit bureau reports, bank statements, income verification documents and employment history
• Evaluate an applicants’ financial stability, repayment capacity and debt-to-income ratios in accordance with Australian lending regulations including the NCCP Act
• Assess the validity and accuracy of information provided by applicants and broker referrers, identifying potential fraud or misrepresentation
• Adhere to internal credit policies, lending guidelines Conduct quality reviews of customer identification, adhering to all AMF/CTF standards, KYC obligations and company policies
• Communicate effectively with team members and internal stakeholders
• Provide clear and concise explanations of credit decisions and requirements to external stakeholders
• Adherence to individual KPIs, including a set target of activities to be completed each day
• Adherence to the team SLA requirements set by the business
Key Experience & Qualifications:
• Proven experience of at least 4+ years of delegated lending authority, having held a DLA of at least $100K
• Deep understanding and expertise in Equifax Comprehensive Credit
• Reporting and financial document analysis.
• Prior experience in a lending institution or financial services environment is essential
• Experience in credit analysis, loan processing or risk management is essential

• Familiarity with relevant Australian lending regulations
