As our Creative Director – Copy, Campaign, you will be the lead voice behind Xero’s global storytelling, defining and elevating the narratives that shape how millions of small business owners experience our brand. You will hold a critical role in turning complex innovations into simple, emotionally resonant stories that drive engagement across global markets.
This leadership position requires a strategic thinker who can bridge creative ambition with commercial goals. Reporting to the GM, Head of Creative, you will oversee a team of writers, ensuring every script, tagline, and brand narrative is purposeful, powerful, and perfectly aligned with Xero’s business priorities.
The team / how they connect
You will join Xero’s Internal Global Agency, collaborating closely with department heads and partnering with Brand Strategy, Product Marketing, and Customer Engagement teams. Your role acts as a strategic bridge, fostering a culture of curiosity and creative excellence while ensuring storytelling is recognised as a vital tool for business success.
Initially, you will focus on
Co-leading campaign concepting and defining Xero’s verbal identity across headlines, scripts, and global brand narratives.
Establishing high-level creative standards and tone of voice principles in partnership with our creative leadership.
Mentoring and growing a team of talented writers, fostering a collaborative environment built on continuous improvement.
Refining global messaging through testing and data-driven experimentation alongside our performance and insights teams.

Here are some of the things we are looking for
You bring extensive leadership experience in creative or copy roles, with a proven track record of leading large-scale global brand storytelling.
Your background demonstrates success in developing and mentoring high-performing creative teams across multiple disciplines.
You possess exceptional writing and conceptual skills, with the ability to switch seamlessly between high-level strategy and detailed craft.
Translating complex briefs into simple, emotionally engaging narratives for senior stakeholders is a core strength of yours.
You have experience leading campaign development for global markets, masterfully balancing brand consistency with regional nuance.
A familiarity with tech, SaaS, or B2B brand storytelling would be highly regarded in this role.
