About the role and team

Ad Sales at Uber means navigating ambiguity, earning trust fast, and solving problems that don’t come with a script. As a Client Partner, you will bridge the digital and real worlds by building mutually beneficial advertising partnerships with the world's largest CPG brands. This isn't just about pushing a product; it’s about becoming an indispensable strategic advisor for marketing executives who rely on our platform to move their business forward.

The pace here is intense and change drives everything we do. You will lead the ads sales strategy for a portfolio of top brands, navigating internal complexity and shifting priorities to unlock value in a high-stakes environment. If you are a resilient, resourceful storyteller who thrives on owning the "messy reality" of complex negotiations and scaling new products from the ground up, you will find tremendous purpose here.

What you’ll do

  • Build and grow long-term partnerships by understanding the unique marketing objectives of Retail brands rather than just selling ad space.
  • Navigate the ambiguity of an expanding product suite to drive adoption of new ads offerings across both Mobility and Delivery platforms.
  • Collaborate across Product, Marketing, and Operations teams to unblock internal hurdles and shape proposals that deliver scalable solutions.
  • Manage complex sales pipelines with urgency, staying resilient through long-term trust-building phases and the inevitable "no".
  • Communicate the value of programmatic ad buys and creative pitch narratives to Director and C-level executives with clarity and accountability.
  • Adapt your sales approach based on shifting market dynamics and imperfect information to ensure brand penetration across the Retail vertical.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6 + years of experience in end-to-end Enterprise or Large Customer Digital Advertising Sales.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience selling digital advertising solutions specifically to large, complex enterprise Retail brands.
  • Proficiency in programmatic advertising and ad buy structures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven ability to build and implement strategic sales plans that thrive in high-ambiguity environments.
  • Creative storytelling experience with a track record of using data to quantify opportunities and influence decision-makers.
  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to foster collaboration across disparate global teams.
  • Exceptional resilience and a "go-get-it" attitude when navigating tough client objections or market shifts.
  • Experience using AI tools to drive workflow efficiency and business insights.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
