The Role
The Corporate Communications Executive will support the development and execution of activities that drive Warner Bros. Discovery's corporate brand, reputation and personality in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
Working across corporate and internal communications for the business, the successful candidate will help to ensure our story is clear with our key stakeholders. We are looking for a highly organised, proactive team player who can develop strong relationships across the business. This role reports to the Director, Corporate Communications, ANZ and will work closely with the People and Culture, Marketing, Publicity, Content, Digital Delivery and Commercial Strategy teams, as well as other members of the broader APAC Communications team.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of overarching and project specific communications plan across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Work closely with ANZ leadership and teams to ensure cohesive internal messages for key business and employee engagement initiatives in Australia and New Zealand, including across internal tools [e.g. Workplace] and events [i.e. Town Halls].
  • Keep close attention to external media coverage at local, regional and global levels, creating reports for the leadership team, with context.
  • Help to manage and maintain WBD's viewer correspondence channels.
  • Assist in providing counsel, in consultation with Director, Corporate Communications ANZ, for internal and external crisis situations when required.
  • Identify and execute local partnerships that will further corporate communications initiatives, including with media and industry bodies.
  • Develop clear KPIs and measures of success for all communications initiatives.
  • Partner effectively with all internal functions, including those listed in the job description above.

Requirements:

  • Minimum two years' experience in corporate communications - internal communications experience a plus.
  • Good understanding of the New Zealand and/ or Australian media landscape.
  • Independent thinker with a strategic mindset who can execute projects to the highest standard.
  • Professional, organised and adaptable, with a high-degree of professionalism.
  • Comfortable with a diverse workload and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player able to work with colleagues across multiple locations and timezones.
  • Ability to travel internationally, if required.
  • Ability to assess priorities and always maintain composure and diplomacy.
  • Excellent written and communication skills in English.
  • Passionate about entertainment.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
