Description

Moodle with us!

At Moodle, we’re on a mission to empower educators and learners worldwide with open, flexible, and innovative digital learning solutions. As the world’s most customisable and trusted open-source LMS, we partner with schools, universities, and organisations to create better learning experiences for millions. If you’re ready to make a real impact,  and be part of a global movement shaping the future of learning, join us—let’s transform education together!

About the role

We are looking for a passionate Content Designer to join the team! As a Content Designer, you’ll be at the heart of improving Moodle’s core learning product, helping ensure it meets the needs of educators, learners, and contributors around the world.

This is a fully remote role and can be based based in APAC - Philippines, Australia, Vietnam, Fiji, Indonesia.

What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll spend your days collaborating with developers, designers, and product leads to shape new features and improvements. You’ll make sense of complex systems, improve legacy experiences, and support the evolution of our platform through clear, thoughtful interface content.

What your new job can look like:

  • Collaborating with developers, designers, and product leads to shape features and improvements from a content perspective
  • Creating interface content that makes complex systems easier to understand and use, while meeting accessibility and localisation needs
  • Digging into legacy interfaces and help make them more usable, accessible, consistent, and scalable
  • Collaborating closely with engineers to ensure content fits system constraints and edge cases
  • Using insights from UX research to inform content decisions and address user pain points
  • Working with internal experts to align technical accuracy with user understanding
  • Helping refine information architecture and content patterns across the platform
  • Ensuring Moodle’s platform experiences are user-centered, scalable, and accessible for a global audience
Requirements

We’d love to meet you

Especially if you can tell us about your:

  • 3+ years of experience designing product content in complex or evolving software environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English, with strong writing and editing skills and a sharp eye for detail and consistency
  • Experience improving and iterating on existing experiences, not just designing from scratch
  • Comfort working in highly technical contexts: you can collaborate with engineers, ask the right questions, and write content that works within system constraints and edge cases
  • Ability to identify and prioritise high-impact content opportunities, manage your workload independently, and make informed content decisions
  • Familiarity with UX best practices, accessibility standards, and internationalisation
  • Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams (designers, developers, product managers, researchers)
  • Interest in open-source, education, or designing inclusive technology for a global audience
  • Any previous experience writing for global or multilingual audiences is a bonus

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
