Desktop Publishing Specialist

Location: Australia-wide (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane)

Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Do you have an eye for detail, a passion for language, and a knack for solving complex content challenges? Join IQVIA, a global leader in advanced analytics, technology, and clinical research, as a Desktop Publishing Specialist.

In this pivotal role, you’ll help shape multilingual content that informs, engages, and delivers impact. You’ll be responsible for reviewing Japanese-language materials and ensuring content quality, consistency, and clarity across a wide range of deliverables. From spotting design and formatting issues to refining translated content, your work will directly support global communication efforts and ensure nothing gets lost in translation.

What You’ll Do:

  • Review Japanese content and ensure it aligns with source requirements and design standards.
  • Detect and correct errors caused by OCR, translation inconsistencies, or formatting glitches.
  • Validate and refine multilingual content before it goes to market—accurate, polished, and professional.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, the Associate Director, and the Head of Operational Excellence to meet deadlines and quality benchmarks.
  • Coordinate tasks across other Content Design Specialists, sharing expertise and improving team efficiency.
  • Contribute to process enhancements and quality initiatives in the content and translation workflow.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Native-level Japanese speaker with fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Bachelor’s degree in linguistics, business, or a scientific field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in proofreading, editing, or content validation—especially in multilingual environments
  • Strong grasp of terminology, syntax, and grammar in both Japanese and English • Experience in translation, DTP, or linguistic QA is a plus
  • Familiarity with CAT tools or content editing platforms is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset
  • Ability to mentor, lead, and work effectively across global teams
