Job Description

The role

Join our Risk and Compliance team and play a key role in helping the Bank meet its regulatory obligations while supporting a strong culture of compliance across the organisation. Reporting to the Senior Compliance Manager, you will provide regulatory advice, support compliance incidents and reporting, contribute to regulatory change initiatives, and help maintain and enhance the Bank's Compliance Framework.

This is a varied and collaborative role that will see you partner with stakeholders across the business, interpret regulatory requirements, support the implementation of compliance initiatives, and drive continuous improvement through effective governance, knowledge sharing and practical compliance solutions. It's an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional looking to broaden their experience and make a meaningful impact in a purpose-led organisation.

In this role, you will

  • Provide practical compliance advice and guidance, helping the business understand and meet its regulatory obligations.
  • Analyse and interpret legislation, prudential standards, industry codes and regulatory requirements relevant to the Bank.
  • Partner with project and business teams to support regulatory change initiatives, strategic projects and business improvements.
  • Assist with the management of compliance incidents, including investigations, regulatory assessment, remediation, and reporting..
  • Support the ongoing enhancement of the Bank's Compliance Framework, policies, procedures and governance practices.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships across the organisation, promoting compliance awareness and contributing to a positive risk and compliance culture.

 

Qualifications

About you

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

  • Experience in financial services compliance, risk, audit or regulatory advisory, with a strong understanding of the Australian banking regulatory environment.
  • The ability to interpret complex legislation and regulatory requirements and provide clear, practical advice to support business decision-making.
  • Sound knowledge of banking regulations and industry standards, including consumer credit, privacy, corporations and prudential requirements.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to identify trends, assess risk, and solve complex problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present complex information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
  • A proven ability to manage competing priorities, maintain exceptional attention to detail, and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Qualifications in law, compliance, business, audit or a related discipline will be highly regarded, as will experience within the banking or broader financial services sector.
