Job Description

Now, about this opportunity…

As a Compliance Manager, you'll play a key role within our Risk and Compliance team, helping to develop, embed and maintain Judo's Compliance Framework while supporting the business to effectively manage compliance obligations and regulatory risk.

  • Partner closely with first-line teams to ensure controls are appropriately designed and implemented to meet compliance obligations and mitigate risk
  • Identify, assess and provide guidance on operational and compliance issues arising from changing business needs and the regulatory environment
  • Support the operationalisation of compliance policies through education, training and stakeholder engagement
  • Advise the business on new legislation and regulatory changes and their impact on processes and controls

  • Develop and lead compliance-themed oversight programs and provide assurance to senior management through regular reviews
  • Oversee, monitor and report compliance risks to senior management, committees and regulators
  • Assess, investigate and report incidents and potential compliance breaches

Qualifications

You’ll likely bring:

  • At least 5 years' experience within banking or financial services, ideally in compliance or operational risk roles
  • Strong working knowledge of Compliance and Operational Risk Management Frameworks
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Australian regulatory landscape, including ASIC, APRA, ACCC and AUSTRAC requirements
  • Experience partnering with Risk teams and business stakeholders to develop and implement effective compliance controls
  • Experience working within a licensed entity environment, including AFSL, ACL and/or ADI frameworks
  • A strong commercial and entrepreneurial mindset
  • A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to identify issues and provide practical business-focused solutions
  • Confidence making decisions and taking ownership of outcomes
  • A collaborative, relationship-led approach to working with stakeholders

If you don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply – your experience, mindset and potential matter to us.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
