The Role

As Senior Analyst, Commercial Finance – APAC, you will support commercial decision‑making for Convera’s direct sales business across the Asia‑Pacific region. You will work closely with Direct Sales, Revenue Operations, Regional Leadership, and Product teams to provide financial insights that improve pricing discipline, customer profitability, and growth investment decisions.

This is a hands‑on analytical role at the intersection of commercial finance, regional execution, and GTM performance, with exposure to senior leaders and a clear path to broader ownership over time.

What You’ll Do

Business Support & Commercial Analysis

  • Support Direct Sales and regional leadership in evaluating commercial initiatives, pricing decisions, and customer opportunities across APAC
  • Provide financial analysis and decision support for deals, pipelines, and growth initiatives
  • Apply advanced analytics and AI‑enabled insights to improve pricing discipline, customer and channel profitability analysis, and commercial decision‑making
  • Help surface trade‑offs across growth, margin, volume, and risk

Commercial Performance & Insights

  • Produce customer, segment, and regional profitability analysis for the APAC direct business
  • Develop and track core commercial KPIs (e.g., revenue growth, margin, customer mix, cost‑to‑serve, retention, deal economics)
  • Prepare clear, concise analysis explaining performance drivers, variances, and trends

Pricing, Deals & Investment Economics

  • Support pricing analysis, discounting reviews, and deal economics to reinforce commercial discipline
  • Build and maintain financial models for customer deals, GTM initiatives, and regional growth investments
  • Assist in assessing ROI and tracking performance against expectations

Planning, Forecasting & Reporting

  • Support revenue forecasting and scenario analysis for the APAC direct business
  • Partner with FP&A to ensure forecasts and plans reflect commercial realities and regional dynamics
  • Help maintain reporting rhythms and performance reviews for regional stakeholders

Finance Enablement & Capability Building

  • Translate complex data into practical insights and tools for sales and regional teams
  • Continuously improve models, templates, and dashboards used in commercial decision‑making
  • Learn best‑in‑class commercial finance approaches with increasing scope and ownership over time

What Success Looks Like

  • Sales and regional leaders rely on your analysis to inform pricing, deals, and investment decisions
  • Improved visibility into APAC customer and deal profitability
  • Forecasts become more accurate and variance drivers better understood
  • You are seen as a reliable, detail‑oriented finance partner with growing commercial judgment

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Skills

  • Approx 3–6+ years of experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, Consulting, Banking, or related analytical roles
  • Experience supporting sales or regional commercial teams in B2B, fintech, payments, SaaS, or financial services preferred
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Comfort working with large datasets and imperfect information

Ways of Working

  • Detail‑oriented, structured thinker who takes pride in accuracy and clarity
  • Clear communicator who can summarize insights and implications, not just numbers
  • Curious and eager to learn the business and develop commercial judgment
  • Hands‑on, proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership

Education & Tools

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
  • Strong Excel skills; PowerPoint proficiency
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) a plus

Why Convera

  • Opportunity to build deep commercial finance experience in a global fintech
  • Exposure to APAC regional dynamics and senior commercial leaders
  • Strong development path toward Lead‑level commercial finance roles
  • Fast‑growing, PE‑backed fintech with global scale
  • Competitive compensation, bonus, and comprehensive benefits

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
