Job Description

Endeavour Group is Australia’s largest retail drinks network under the Dan Murphy’s and BWS brands. We also run the country's largest portfolio of licensed hotels.

Endeavour Group demerged from Woolworths in 2021 and as part of the transition is taking the opportunity to transform how we operate as an independent business and establish supporting technology.

This role will be responsible for helping Endeavour Group IT build up its architecture practice, not limited to but including its Data Centre, Venues, and Cloud Environments. You will be involved in developing target state architecture and roadmaps for infrastructure and systems.

Responsible for building end-to-end solution design for infrastructure and cloud solutions across the Endeavour landscape which it aligned to best fit EGL.

Partnering with business, engineering and product stakeholders to determine system requirements and designing fit-for-purpose solutions.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

• Be a key contributor to the Architecture peer group (with Infrastructure Architects and EA) supporting all technology pillars with their infrastructure requirements to ensure that their business needs and applications can run.

• Partner with Enterprise Architecture - Cloud and Infrastructure and infrastructure teams in establishing standards and contribute to the formulation of guidelines that align to Enterprise architecture.

• Provide architectural services to program and project teams for: 

• Design end-to-end infrastructure solutions that align with business goals and enable a seamless transition journey.

• Develop architectural guidelines and standards for infrastructure components, ensuring scalability, security and performance.

• Review, assessment and governance of infrastructure solution designs for conformance to architecture principles throughout the project lifecycle.

• Articulates and evaluates key options independent of technology, for a given solution and show trade-offs (risk, time, cost, capability, future value).

• Diagnose and solve architecture and management problems and issues that may arise.

• Act autonomously in dealing with identified issues or deviance from standards.

• Work with Infrastructure, Cyber security, Network teams and Risk and Portfolio Offices to implement engagement processes to capture and track issues raised from assessments in project registers and risk register for delivered risk.with respect to the infrastructure designed.

• Alignment to architecture standards and principles to ensure solution decisions are made consistently across the enterprise and in the context of target architectures

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you: 

• Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant industry certifications (i.e. Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Google Professional Cloud Architect)

• Strong experience in the development of infrastructure architectures for large enterprise (conceptual, logical and physical)

• Proven experience working with engineering and security teams while creating high level design documentation

• Previous experience working within Retail is highly regarded

• Solid understanding and design capability across multiple infrastructure domains such as computing, storage, database, backups, cost management and addressing security controls in the Cloud (Azure & GCP)

• Strong business analysis and stakeholder engagement skills  

• Exceptional communication skills coupled with an ability to negotiate and influence. 

• Proven ability to consult and provide advice to internal stakeholders.

• Excellent understanding of Azure cloud services (Azure App Service, Azure SQL, Azure Container Registry, Azure Data Factory etc.) and Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Azure Resource Manager Templates etc.)

• Knowledge and understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) across all services.
