In this exciting opportunity you will join the Clinical Support team, managing our clinical education team across our four sites at Fitzroy, East Melbourne, Kew, and Werribee.

ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE:

This is a permanent full time position managing, supporting and developing our clinical education team.

The Clinical Education Manager's role is to provide exemplary leadership that delivers evidence-based clinical education and training. The role is accountable for the development and delivery of all Education services in line with the operational plans of the facilities to achieve high staff engagement and capability for our staff to deliver exceptional patient care.

As the Clinical Education Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Nursing and midwifery educational program development, implementation, and evaluation and leading members of the education team to ensure training/education is delivered to the highest standards

  • Recruitment, development, and retention of learners, including graduates, post-graduates, and specialty practice programs

  • Providing expert clinical and academic advice and guidance to managers and staff in relation to day-to-day learning

  • Working collaboratively with Department heads to support educational strategic and operational goals

  • Providing advice to the National Standards Working Committee/Working Parties regarding clinical and non-clinical practice issues including policy procedures review

  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with academic partners to enhance collaboration, research and workforce pipelines

  • Foster a culture of lifelong learning, evidence based practice, innovation and continuous professional development across all sites

  • Monitoring of staff compliance with mandatory training, required competency assessments specified by SVHA and the National Safety and Quality in Health Care standards

Skills you will bring to this role will include:

  • Proven managerial ability and substantial experience in nursing education with a minimum of four years post-graduate teaching experience

  • Clinical skills of a high order gained in acute medical-surgical nursing.

  • Experience in leadership and management

  • High level stakeholder engagement experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment, both autonomously and as part of a team
