About the role:
We are looking for a highly motivated Climate Strategy Manager to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
Reporting to the Head of Sustainability, this role is responsible for developing, leading and managing climate strategies, programs and communications along with driving the commercial strategy of the energy and climate agenda for the Bunnings Group.
What’s involved:
Develop and implement strategies to enhance Bunnings' resilience to climate-related challenges, while also identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation
Direct the execution of Bunnings’ decarbonisation strategy, including pathway modelling, identifying potential emissions reduction measures, and tracking progress
Manage the development of business cases to address key energy and carbon climate-related risks and opportunities.
Aid in the Bunnings’ Group-wide collection, reporting, and communication of energy and climate-related data and strategies
Who we’re looking for:
You will have the proven ability to advise and provide recommendations to the executive team on energy and climate strategy issues. Additionally, you will have demonstrated experience in managing complex projects, including budgeting, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
You will have outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, the ability to process complex information efficiently, and be able to work cross-divisionally. Additionally, you will be skilled in negotiating and influencing and have the ability to identify and manage issues.
You’ll need:
Tertiary Qualification or an equivalent degree in Sustainability or Environment
Demonstrated experience in energy and climate focused role
Experience managing and delivering energy and climate related reporting, strategies and plans in a large-scale business operation or similar
Proven experience with carbon accounting and relevant standards
Comprehensive understanding of climate change science, risk assessment, and adaptation strategies
