Halter is looking for our first Chief Product Officer. Reporting into the CEO, and a key member of our Executive team you’ll own and shape the strategy behind the future of our product on the global stage.
You will lead our product and design functions end-to-end: bringing the product vision to life, driving strategy, building world class teams, and ensuring what we ship is both technically excellent and genuinely transformative for farmers and ranchers worldwide.
We're looking for a leader who operates at the intersection of strategy, leadership, craft, and execution, someone who leads from the front, sets direction, raises the quality bar, and builds the systems that allow Halter's product to continue to distance itself as globally best in class.

Halter's recurring revenue grew by over 2.5x through 2025 and has only accelerated in 2026, with over half a million collars deployed across New Zealand, Australia, and the United States - more than all competitors combined. The market opportunity easily exceeds the 10’s of Billions. Agriculture is a massive industry that is currently underserved by technology, providing significant white space for new product lines to come to market.

Our product.Halter operates in the real world. Our product has become a digital twin of land and animals, guiding livestock, modelling farms, and monitoring behaviour in real time. It’s used by farmers and ranchers in the field 365 days a year, 7 days a week. Our customers span a wide spectrum: some are highly data-driven and AI-fluent, while others may be using digital tools in their business for the first time. Crafting product experiences that are powerful yet intuitive across this range is critical to our success. Much of what we build has no existing template. We regularly tackle greenfield technical and product challenges, and our willingness to push into new territory keeps us ahead of the industry.
What you’ll do.Product Vision & Strategy
Define and lead Halter’s end-to-end product vision, shaping the strategy, principles, and long-term roadmap.
Ensure the product strategy is tightly aligned with Halter’s mission, business model, and global expansion ambitions, positioning the product as a core driver of our long-term competitive advantage.
Establish and evolve Halter’s product operating model, how teams prioritise, plan, and execute, enabling our Product org to continue to move quickly while maintaining a consistently high bar for product quality.
Drive bold product evolution where necessary, balancing rapid iteration with transformational rebuilds that position the platform for the next decade of growth.
Embed Halter’s AI and data strategy deeply into the product roadmap, ensuring the platform compounds in value as adoption scales.
Product, Engineering & Commercial Partnership
As a key member of our Executive team, own and drive product strategy in partnership with wider Executive team to deliver meaningful commercial outcomes.
Ensure product development is grounded in customer insight, operational realities, and commercial impact, balancing user needs with technical constraints and business priorities.
Drive product strategies that support global scale, including seamless onboarding, product adoption, and platform usability across diverse farming environments globally.
Product Organisation & Leadership
Lead, mentor, and grow Halter’s product organisations across multiple product domains.
Build a high-performing product organisation grounded in ownership, craft, velocity, and accountability for outcomes.
Raise the talent density of the team by attracting exceptional product talent and investing deeply in their development.
Establish clear operating rhythms, decision frameworks, and product development practices that allow the organisation to scale effectively as Halter grows.
Execution & Product Excellence
Maintain a high bar for product quality and execution across every part of the platform, staying close to critical product decisions while empowering teams to move with speed.
Champion strong product thinking through experimentation, customer insight, AI and data-informed decision making.
Establish best practices across product discovery, delivery, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
Foster a culture of rapid, high-quality shipping, where field testing and real-world customer feedback drive constant learning and iteration.
An experienced product leader or a CTO with a strong product background.
Technically minded, comfortable in the detail of complex, data-rich, real-time products. Able to think critically and in 1st principles.
Low ego. Opinionated and fearless, but pragmatic and precise. Hardworking and resilient. Comfortable making hard trade offs in fast moving environments, with what's best for Halter and our customers always in mind.
Genuinely motivated by real-world impact, building something that will continue to revolutionise one of the world's most important industries.
Bonus points if you have hardware or deep tech experience but not required.

This role carries a current $1M + in total target compensation, inclusive of equity, representing a genuine ownership stake in a company being built to last. As Halter continues to scale in adoption and revenue, so does your overall compensation.
