Within Retail Technology, you’ll be part of the Customer Service Channel Technology unit and Self Service experience crew, which owns the Gen AI chatbot and Voice Bot products. The team is responsible for delivering efficient experiences and capabilities to our customers through various channels such as digital, branch, and IVR.
As an Engineering Manager - Chapter Lead, you will be leading engineers that report to you, instilling a growth mindset and innovative ways of working. You’ll play an important role in steering the organisation by providing expert advice relating to technology, solution design and architecture, people leadership and hiring. You will bring a perfect blend of people management and technical expertise and will be responsible for shaping the evolution of the technical squad by contributing to the technology strategy, prioritising backlog, defining delivery roadmaps, and deciding which problems to invest in solving.

Have demonstrated experience in leading high-performing platform engineering teams with a solid technical background, balancing hands-on contributions, coaching, and leading delivery.
Actively embraces and integrates AI-driven solutions (including LLMs and agentic AI approaches) to enhance our engineering workflows and product capabilities.
Drives a true DevSecOps mindset, where engineering owns what they build and truly values customer feedback.
Effectively communicates engineering practices standards and consistent ways of working across squads and CBA that align to global best practice.
Stays updated with latest technologies, incorporating relevant innovations into team’s processes.
Promotes open communication and creates a safe working environment where our engineers’ voices are heard to achieve great outcomes for our organisation, our customers, and the community.
Constructively challenges the status quo while influencing stakeholders and building diverse and inclusive teams.
Tech Skills:
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:
Hands-on experience with the technologies like C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core
Expertise with large-scale distributed systems, Microservices, and Rest API Integration
Working knowledge of public cloud engineering - AWS or Azure (preferred)
Solid understanding of AI technologies and their practical application in engineering
Understanding of DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipeline - GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus
Experience implementing robust engineering quality practices, including automated testing
Logging & monitoring - Open Telemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Observe, CloudWatch
Security - Vault, SSL Certificates, OWASP
