Retail Technology is responsible for the world-leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank - from innovative product platforms for our customers, to essential tools within our business. We also use technology to drive simplicity and better banking, an essential component of great customer service underpinning a strong emphasis on software development as a craft and the adoption of industry best engineering practices.

You’ll be part of the Everyday Products Crew, which is responsible for leading and developing new products and propositions within our Retail division. We play a critical role in shaping the everyday banking growth agenda and enhancing the customer experience, leveraging and contributing to our modern technology estate.

As a Chapter Lead, you will bring a blend of people management, technical expertise and will be responsible for shaping the platform by contributing to the Group’s technology strategy, driving DevSecOps and leading engineers that report to you.

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

  • Have passion for designing, developing, & deploying high quality software solutions and enjoy spending time being hands-on assisting the team in delivery objectives.

  • Have experience with Full-Cycle development and delivery using Agile practices with a specific focus on developing Web applications, RESTful API’s, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.

  • Can drive technical initiatives and contribute to a culture where quality, excellence and openness are championed.

  • Have natural drive to educate, communicate and positively influence various stakeholder groups.

  • Can coach engineers and share knowledge to improve software development practices.

Tech Skills:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success:

  • Broad technical expertise including the ability to understand complex environments using .NET

  • Experience defining and building secure web applications (Angular/React) and RESTful API’s.

  • Establish new ways of working and promote DevSecOps culture and Automation supported by world-class tools.

  • Experience in designing and operating highly available systems in cloud environment – AWS preferred
