Design, implement, and operate an L1 blockchain: build and maintain Cosmos SDK/Tendermint modules, add Evmos EVM capabilities, integrate BNB Greenfield storage, manage upgrades and governance, and own node reliability, monitoring, and incident response.
We are hiring for one of our clients. They are a fast-growing Web3 startup rethinking how digital identity and reputation work online. They’re building privacy-first infrastructure that lets users prove who they are and what they’ve done—without giving up personal data. Backed by strong ecosystem partners and a passionate founding team, the company is shaping a more trusted and user-centric internet.
We are looking for a Protocol Engineer to design, implement, and operate the core software of a L1 Chain—focusing on reliability, performance, and the identity‑specific features.
Responsibilities
- Drive full lifecycle of Cosmos SDK/Tendermint modules: build, customize, and maintain with deep consensus/networking impact.
- Engineer EVM-compatible capabilities on Evmos—precompiles, fee markets, state logic, and cross-layer behaviors.
- Implement and run BNB Greenfield storage integrations: permissions, cross-chain flows, and app-level patterns.
- Manage chain upgrades, hotfixes, and param changes via governance, migrations, and multi-env execution.
- Own stack reliability: node ops, RPC tuning, indexing, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
Requirements
- Expert Golang in Cosmos/Tendermint; mastery of state machines and consensus.
- Deep Evmos EVM proficiency: precompiles, opcodes/gas, JSON-RPC, cross-compat.
- Hands-on with Greenfield SDKs/APIs, ACLs, and chain/contract integration patterns.
- Strong in Docker/K8s, CI/CD, IaC for chain infra; plus node ops (pruning, sync, RPC).
- Rigorous testing (simulations, property-based, upgrade rehearsals) and observability (Prom/Grafana, traces, playbooks).

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene
Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
