The Role

We are currently seeking a Category Business Analyst to join our Category Management & Proprietary Brands team on a full time, permanent basis at Brisbane. You will provide support to the Category Management team in key portfolio analysis, data led decision recommendations and market analysis ensuring we are customer focused and data led in portfolio management.

You will enjoy a role with variety and challenge as you interact with various parts of our diverse business and will gain exposure to a fast paced, global organisation that can provide great career opportunities and the opportunity to make a difference within the rewarding animal health industry. This role would suit an up and coming individual with 2-3 years experience in category management.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing analytics of product mix and portfolio management where needed.
  • Supporting the Category Managers with analytics relating to pricing, product mix, and portfolio management.
  • Responding to internal queries from our customer service and sales teams regarding products, pricing etc.
  • Supporting category managers with reporting requirements.
  • Coordinating with Purchasing Team on short- and long-term supply issues (review data, coordinate with Category Manager & Demand Planner on alternatives).
  • Working closely with Category Managers to maintain a current list of product substitutes and alternatives to support contingency sourcing.
  • Provide data analysis and recommendations through Power BI and other internal insight tools assisting the category teams and department make informed strategic decisions within category management principles.
  • Other ad hoc duties as directed by the Director, Category Management Proprietary Brands.

About You

Our ideal candidate will bring:

  • Demonstrated category management experience within the retail, wholesale, FMCG or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Exposure to a procurement or warehouse environment will be advantageous though not essential.
  • Sound analytical ability and knowledge of margin calculations, buying and purchasing practices, and basic inventory management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel & PowerBI and ideally exposure to working with data.
  • Superb attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
