About the Role: 

As a Camera Firmware Engineering Developer, you will be a key member of the Hardware team shaping the way we develop our products. Both an exceptional technical engineer and self-starter, you are able to design, execute, and test complex embedded features on a range of platforms from bare metal, RTOS, and Linux.

This role will be responsible for developing and optimizing embedded firmware that enables high-quality camera performance across a range of devices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, image processing, and validation teams to deliver robust and innovative camera solutions for consumer electronics, automotive, or industrial applications.


What You’ll Do: 

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for camera modules and imaging systems.
  • Implement control logic for sensors, lenses, actuators (VCM), ISP (Image Signal Processor), and other camera-related components.
  • Integrate camera drivers (I2C, MIPI CSI-2, GPIO, etc.) into existing platforms and ensure compatibility.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to support camera bring-up, debugging, and tuning.
  • Optimize firmware for performance, power efficiency, memory usage, and reliability.
  • Conduct system-level debugging and root cause analysis for camera-related issues.
  • Develop test utilities, diagnostics, and automation tools for validation and manufacturing support.
  • Document design specifications, procedures, and best practices.

What We’re Looking For: 

  • 10+ years of experience in embedded platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Strong programming experience and demonstrated proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems,  including development of algorithms, component drivers, and implementing highly optimized code.
  • Experience with Linux, AOSP, Android development.
  • Experience with SoCs from Qualcomm or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of camera drivers, pipeline, 3A architecture, video encoder optimization…etc.
  • Familiarity with mobile/automotive camera frameworks.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration across global teams.
  • Scripting experience in Python or Bash for test automation.
