About role

At Ingram Micro, we’re looking for a confident, analytical, and proactive Business & Logistics Operations Analyst to join our Retail division in Melbourne.

This role will be the right-hand to our Operations Manager, driving cost efficiency and delivering insights that inform critical decisions across transport, finance, and vendor/customer operations. This is a broad and high-impact role that combines commercial analytics, logistics operations, project support, and stakeholder engagement. You’ll be responsible for demand forecasting, transport cost modelling, financial tracking, customer/vendor reporting, and leading data-driven insights that inform decision-making.

Role Responsibilities

  • Deliver clear, data-driven insights through confident analysis and presentations to internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors
  • Forecast and validate weekly/monthly demand, tracking variances and identifying trends that impact operations
  • Drive continuous improvement across transport, warehousing, and logistics through cost-to-serve and process analysis
  • Partner with finance on monthly cost tracking, freight accruals, and return rate analysis
  • Lead vendor allocation strategies, product launches, and stock release planning
  • Identify and address supply chain inefficiencies through actionable recommendations
  • Prepare and deliver reports using Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, and BI tools — Power BI a bonus
  • Manage cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Role Requirement

  • Proven experience in an analyst, logistics, or commercial operations role
  • Strong data presentation skills – you can communicate the “why” behind the numbers
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; SAP and BI (Power BI, CVP, HPCM) a plus
  • Understanding of transport, logistics, or supply chain analytics
  • Financial acumen – confident with accruals, cost tracking, and return ratios
  • Proactive and independent – you own your work, spot problems early, and drive change
  • Comfortable engaging with stakeholders from customers to senior leaders
  • Ability to challenge constructively, offer differing opinions, and present recommendations
  • Strong attention to detail, planning, and organisation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (preferred)

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
