Job Description

  • Own end‑to‑end new business development across Australia’s corporate market, directly driving revenue growth, market share and yield performance
  • Operate at a senior, customer‑facing level, leading commercial negotiations with executive stakeholders across major corporates, industry sectors and TMCs
  • Permanent position based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth

Reporting to the Senior Manager, New Business, the Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for creating new business opportunities through connections, relationships, strategic thinking, and effective negotiation. This role is crucial in driving new business growth across the entire corporate sales structure, supporting Australian corporations of all sizes.

In this role, you will develop and execute a strategic plan to secure new opportunities, focusing on increasing revenue, market share, and yield premium through targeted initiatives. You will build and strengthen strategic relationships across key industry sectors and Travel Management Companies (TMCs) to drive successful business outcomes. Additionally, you will gather, analyse, and share market intelligence on industry trends, competitors, and best practices, translating insights into strategic opportunities. Leading commercial negotiations, including face-to-face meetings with senior stakeholders across various industries, will be essential to securing long-term success.

You’ll have:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales / business development role
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results within a complex business environment with senior stakeholders
  • Confidence and experience in face-to-face stakeholder engagement including to C-level
  • Strategic selling, pipeline account management, contract negotiation and business planning skills developed at a senior level in a competitive sales environment
  • Strong commercial orientation and high level of business acumen and demonstrated capabilities on achieving consistent sales targets
  • Demonstrated ability to offers unique perspectives on business issues, analyse data and information and create customised solutions for customers
  • Demonstrated ability to tailor sales messages to resonate with different types of customers
  • Demonstrated ability to mobilise customer stakeholders to advocate for your product or service within their organisation
