About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our Commercial and Industrial team and drive the next stage of growth for Bluecurrent. 

This is a highly visible, growth-focused role where you'll identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and expand Bluecurrent's presence across key customer segments and channels. You'll work closely with customers, partners, and internal teams to understand market needs and develop solutions that create long-term value. 

What success looks like in this role 

  • New business opportunities are identified, qualified, and converted into sustainable growth outcomes. 
  • A strong pipeline of opportunities is developed and actively managed across customers, partners, and key market channels. 
  • Revenue growth, customer acquisition, and commercial targets are achieved through a proactive and strategic approach. 
  • Strong partnerships are built and maintained, creating new opportunities and long-term value. 
  • Customer needs are understood and translated into commercially viable solutions that support growth and customer success. 
  • Bluecurrent's market presence and share continue to grow through customer-focused business development and strategic engagement. 

What you'll bring 

We're looking for someone who enjoys building strategic partnerships, driving growth, and creating lasting value for customers and the business. You will ideally bring: 

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, account growth, or a similar commercial role. 
  • Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of the National Electricity Market, including C&I metering, data services, embedded networks, and emerging energy solutions. 
  • A track record of delivering revenue, meter growth, pipeline conversion, and sustainable commercial outcomes. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build strategic partnerships and activate channels across retailers, brokers, market intermediaries, enterprise customers, and industry partners. 
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, build trust, and create value for customers and the business. 
  • A proactive, self-driven approach with a focus on identifying opportunities and achieving results.
