The role will be based in Melbourne with the expectation of a hybrid work model.
PineBridge Investments is seeking a Business Development Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Own and manage a defined territory across licensees, private wealth firms, banks, family offices, and platform partners.
- Develop structured call cycles and strategic account plans to maximise coverage.
- Prioritise activity across key adviser platforms, tailoring engagement to each ecosystem.
- Source, qualify, and close new business through meetings, events, and targeted campaigns.
- Maintain a strong, balanced pipeline across early and late-stage opportunities.
- Drive model portfolio inclusion and fund transitions.
- Deliver impactful meetings translating investment strategies into client portfolio benefits.
- Manage objections and lead follow-ups through to conversion.
- Engage advisers and licensees on SMA and managed account solutions.
- Partner with platform consultants to embed strategies into model portfolios.
- Support and execute adviser marketing campaigns with compliant, balanced messaging.
- Represent the firm at industry events and deliver tailored presentations.
- Contribute to thought leadership and brand positioning initiatives.
- Ensure all external engagement aligns with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Product to ensure accurate communication.
- Uphold professionalism and escalate conduct or risk issues as required.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline tracking.
- Provide clear reporting on sales activity, pipeline, and coverage.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and share market/adviser insights to support team outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, business or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years’ professional experience, with at least 5 years’ experience within asset management
- Strong understanding of investment products and global capital markets, with the ability to discuss strategies confidently with intermediary clients.
- Demonstrated experience working within the Australian intermediary / adviser channel, including private wealth firms, dealer groups, platforms and related partners.
- Proven experience in a client‑facing, business development or relationship management role within financial services.
- Experience working cross‑functionally with investment, product and marketing teams to support distribution outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to engage credibly with advisers and intermediary partners.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present investment information effectively.
- Solid analytical and research capability, supporting market awareness and informed client conversations.
- High level of self‑motivation and resilience, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Well‑organised and disciplined working style, able to operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Collaborative team player who works constructively with colleagues across sales, product and investment teams.
- Willingness to travel nationally for client coverage, conferences, and adviser events
