Reporting to the Head of Access & Innovation, Roche Diagnostics Australia (RDA) is looking for a Business Development professional who will be responsible for providing effective overall vision for the emerging portfolio of Roche Comprehensive Genomic Profiling and Foundation Medicine (FMI) products and services. The Business Development Manager, as an individual contributor, plays an important role in driving the growth and expansion of Roche's Foundation Medicine (FMI) portfolio. 

The BDM will contribute to the RDA’s Business Development strategy, objectives, key results and enabling activities with the view of enabling sustainable growth in adoption of products and services supporting better patient outcomes, clinician benefit and health system benefit.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating and owning the assessment and go-to-market plans for solutions, enhancements and market segments/commercial models. 
  • Driving sales enablement, editorial awareness and marketing strategies to drive growth and retention.
  • Forming close working relationships across RDA, APAC and global teams to support in-market activities of new solutions. 
  • Work closely with the Customer Relationships Specialist to oversee end to end operational processes and ensure customers have an exceptional experience with our products.
  • Manage third party distributors as required to provide FMI service and to explore sales enablement.
  • Work closely with the strategy and solutions team to define and execute digital campaigns.
  • Representing the company externally and establishing strong KOL and stakeholder relationships along with partnerships with industry associations, interest groups and enabling organisations in supporting the development of new solutions and business models in the Australian market.
  • Working as part of a high performing, accountable and collaborative team, working alongside the Market Access and Public Affairs and Medical Affairs chapters to drive access and innovation within the Australian market.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in life sciences or other scientific area, or substantial experience in a similar environment.
  • Extensive market knowledge in oncology coupled with an entrepreneurial flair, curiosity, resilience and tenacity. 
  • High levels of sales and business development proficiency and 5+ years industry specific experience particularly in the selling of high medical value diagnostics assays, focused on oncology, to clinicians, pathologist and biopharmaceutical partners
  • A proven track record in a highly competitive and changing environment within the medical industry.
  • Understanding of Cancer and Patient management would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated scientific knowledge and understanding of molecular diagnostics with sound knowledge of Comprehensive Genomic Profiling and Foundation Medicine (FMI).
  • A high level of commercial acumen, demonstrated experience of the implementation of innovative commercial models would be an advantage.
  • Ideally have experience of successfully working in a matrix environment.
  • Ideally you will have demonstrated strength in agile working principles and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in launching and scaling new products and portfolios.
