The Position:

The Business Development Manager will identify, develop and deliver on new business opportunities, ensuring market awareness and presence is established, making first contact with potential clients and partners across all verticals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities within Oceania, and action and develop sales leads.

  • Work with internal Maersk teams to leverage current key clients for opportunities within Oceania.

  • Responsible for pipeline growth and management in line with targets both individually and contributing to the wider team.

  • Focused selling in line with key products and target areas within vertical.

  • Participate in evaluating and developing projects & new business opportunities.

  • Coordinate project & pipeline planning in cooperation with requisite responsible functions.

  • Provides local industry information and analysis to customers & senior management.

  • Maintains market awareness regarding market developments, supply/demand, pricing, competition etc

  • Own and drive the development of solutions to customer business opportunities and tender requirements.

  • Support development of business opportunities with sales peers.

Who We are Looking for:

  • 5+ years of logistics experience & expertise, including 3+ years of hunter experience.

  • Proven success in developing and winning new customer business.

  • Key stakeholder engagement skills across multiple levels of customer organisations.

  • Previous experience working within a fast and dynamic Sales environment.

  • Excellent influencing and negotiating skills.

  • Capability to develop new business with new customers.

  • Ability to canvas market and develop win strategy to deliver results.

  • Strategic & consultative partnering with customers.

  • Problem-solving skills.

Preferred candidates will be required to undertake reference checks as well as pre-employment screening, including a National Police Check. Where applicable, background checks including Employment History and Education History (including Qualifications) may be required.
