What's the opportunity?
As a Business Development Manager (BDM) in commercial Lending, you will be responsible for driving market-leading growth within VIC, working closely with commercial asset finance brokers. Your primary focus is identifying, activating, and expanding relationships with high-value brokers while ensuring Plenti achieves a top 3 lender position within key accounts. By maintaining a strong sales activity cadence, staying ahead of market dynamics, and collaborating with the Relationship Manager, you will play a pivotal role in positioning Plenti as a dominant force in the commercial lending market
Key Responsibilities:
•Prospect, onboard, and activate new commercial asset finance brokers, expanding Plenti’s market footprint.
•Strengthen broker relationships and implement targeted growth strategies to position Plenti as a top 3 lender within key broker accounts.
•Own sales performance within your state/territory, ensuring consistent deal flow, increased portfolio utilisation, and origination volume growth
•Stay ahead of competitor activity, market trends, and policy changes, proactively providing feedback to enhance product offerings and maintain Plenti’s competitive edge.
•Work closely with your relationship manager to optimise broker engagement, retention, and performance, ensuring that your state/territory delivers industry-leading results.
•Drive disciplined sales activity, ensuring frequent engagement with key brokers, strategic account reviews, and execution of growth plans.
•Clearly articulate Plenti’s competitive advantages and ensure brokers are aligned with Plenti’s commercial lending strategy and product offerings.
About you
You are an experienced BDM with a VIC network of asset finance brokers. You are a self-starter with a track record of achieving sales targets. You enjoy working autonomously and have experience in successfully implementing sales plans and strategies for a portfolio. You are looking to join an energetic, growing sales team
Role Requirements
•Strong understanding of commercial asset finance, particularly within the broker channel
•Demonstrated experience managing broker relationships and driving lending volume
•Proven ability to increase broker utilisation, share of wallet, and generate new business
•Ability to engage, influence, and support brokers to maximise business potential
•Comfortable using data to inform decisions and optimise sales performance
