The role will be based in Melbourne with the expectation of a hybrid work model.
PineBridge Investments is seeking a Business Development Associate.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop relationships, initiate opportunities: Quickly learn and understand the company’s product offerings, and as able, independently schedule and conduct meetings with potential clients.
- Assisting with Pitch Materials: Coordination of presentation and marketing materials to assist with the sales process.
- Database Management: Assist sales team with client database updates in Salesforce.
- Sales Reporting: Assist with production of sales reporting as requested by management.
- Project Management of RFP Process: Assist in the oversight of the RFP process, work across the sales, RFP and investment functions to ensure timely and client-focused end-product is delivered to the prospect and client within established time frames.
- Manage client inbox and incoming calls: Interact with clients by phone and email to assist and resolve queries in support of both wholesale and institutional businesses.
- Liaison with External Parties: Regular communication with fund custodian and Responsible Entity to assist with incoming requests from clients.
- Meeting Scheduling: Schedule meetings and conference calls in multiple time zones.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline
- 6-8 years of relevant experience within the asset management industry, ideally supporting institutional or intermediary client coverage, distribution, or business development
- Strong knowledge of global capital markets, investment products, and the institutional asset management landscape in Australia
- Existing familiarity or relationships within the Australian institutional or intermediary investment community is highly advantageous
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with Morningstar and Salesforce is highly regarded
- Strong analytical, research, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate investment insights into client‑ready materials
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to engage professionally with stakeholders at all levels
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing multiple workstreams in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team player within a client‑centric and sales‑driven environment
- Proactive, mature, reliable, and able to take initiative with minimal supervision
- Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize effectively and deliver under pressure
- Positive working attitude, high energy level, and a strong work ethic
- Experience in product development, investment marketing, or fund‑level analysis within the asset management industry is a plus
