About the Role
We are hiring a Business Control Manager to join our Compliance team at Chime, where you will be responsible for strengthening the first line of defense by partnering with business units to ensure they operate in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies. You will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust compliance and control frameworks that support effective risk management across Chime. As a key player in our compliance team, you will support various departments, including product, marketing, legal, and operations, to ensure our business practices align with regulatory standards and best practices.

The base salary for this role will range from $103,680.00 - $144,000.00, depending on experience and location. Full-time employees are eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual salary offered may vary depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In This Role, You Can Expect To:
- Play a key role in the creation, enhancement, and ongoing execution of the business unit’s control frameworks and policy development to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop, monitor, and test preventative and detective controls with a robust QA program to align with regulatory requirements.
- Stay abreast of changes in the regulatory landscape (e.g., EFTA, TILA, UDAAP) and advise business units on necessary changes to policies, products, and practices to remain compliant.
- Perform ongoing reviews of marketing, consumer complaints, and disclosures to identify compliance risks. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders to ensure seamless compliance processes and to address emerging regulatory issues.
- Provide ongoing training to internal teams on compliance standards and best practices, fostering a culture of compliance across the organization.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of compliance activities, regulatory changes, and risk mitigation efforts. Regularly report on the effectiveness of compliance controls to senior management.
To Thrive in This Role, You Have:

- Strong understanding of key consumer protection regulations, including but not limited to EFTA, TILA, UDAAP, and other financial regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to advise product, marketing, engineering, risk, and operations teams on compliance issues related to consumer protection, fair lending, and regulatory risk.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify risks, perform detailed reviews, and develop actionable solutions to mitigate compliance issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex regulatory concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making.
- Experience independently executing quality, timely compliance management system components.
