The Opportunity

Our projects thrive on clear, well-documented requirements. As a dedicated Business Analyst, you'll be instrumental in capturing customer needs, translating them into actionable documentation, and supporting testing to ensure successful adoption. This role is a critical enabler, eliminating bottlenecks for Solution Architects and directly shaping high-impact project outcomes.

What You'll Do

You will specialize in the crucial discovery work currently performed by Solution Architects, owning the "what and why" behind project requirements. Collaborating closely, you'll ensure seamless alignment with Solution Architects who define the "how," and Project Managers who manage the "when and who." Your strategic input will directly reduce dependency on Solution Architects, ensuring that customer needs are precisely captured and clearly articulated from inception through to delivery. You will guide critical requirements through their lifecycle, bridging the gap between business objectives and technical solutions, and fostering clear communication across all stakeholders to drive successful project delivery.

The Skills You'll HaveDiscovery & Requirements Gathering
  • You'll independently run structured discovery sessions with business users to uncover key needs.

  • You'll consistently produce clear, comprehensive requirement specifications with minimal rework.

  • You'll use probing questions to surface unstated needs, pain points, and objectives, meticulously documenting decisions and rationale.

  • You'll facilitate workshops across diverse projects and stakeholder levels, from end users to leadership.

  • You'll anticipate gaps and conflicts during sessions, proactively reframing ambiguous scope in real-time.

Process Mapping and Documentation
  • You'll create clear process flows using swimlanes within the context of Salesforce project delivery.

  • You'll develop well-structured User Stories from business process flows, complete with clear acceptance criteria that guide design, build, and test scenarios.

  • You'll demonstrate a strong understanding of core Salesforce platform capabilities, standard features, and declarative functionality to prevent unnecessary rework or custom-build traps.

  • You'll design solutions-aware process flows, actively shaping optimal business processes, not just documenting existing ones.

  • You'll consistently steer requirements toward standard Salesforce features, proactively identifying scope requiring heavy customization and proposing alternatives early.

Collaboration with Delivery Team
  • You'll work alongside Solution Architects, developers, and Project Managers in structured Salesforce project delivery to align on requirements, solutions, and project constraints.
  • You'll proactively track open items, actively participate in development syncs, and flag requirement gaps identified during the build phase, driving them to closure.
  • You'll support system testing by meticulously mapping test cases back to user stories, ensuring delivered solutions align with requirements.
  • You'll proactively manage requirement-to-build traceability without needing to be prompted.
  • You'll reduce Solution Architect involvement by independently resolving ambiguity directly with the development team.

User Acceptance Testing
  • You'll prepare comprehensive UAT scenarios and test scripts based on user stories.
  • You'll expertly support customers during UAT, providing answers and capturing feedback effectively.
  • You'll document UAT outcomes and track issues with sufficient context for the development team.
  • You'll own UAT end-to-end, including facilitating sign-off with multiple stakeholders.
  • You'll design strategic UAT approaches for complex, multi-phase implementations.

Within 90 Days, You'll:

    • Successfully run discovery workshops for 2-3 projects, producing clear business process flows, user stories, and high-level solution documents with minimal Solution Architect rework.

    • Begin developing a foundational working knowledge of the Siteracker platform and one specific industry vertical.

    • Actively contribute to UAT coordination, accurately triaging defects, and validating data migration for an ongoing project.

Within 180 Days, You'll:

    • Independently own the coordination of User Acceptance Testing for multiple projects, from scenario design to defect triage and customer sign-off.

    • Deepen your expertise in the Siteracker platform and expand your understanding to a second industry vertical, applying this knowledge to guide requirement discussions.

    • Proactively identify and address potential requirement gaps during the development phase, significantly reducing reliance on Solution Architects for ambiguity resolution.

Within 365 Days, You'll:

    • Become a trusted expert in driving discovery and requirements across high-impact projects, consistently delivering artifacts that accelerate delivery and adoption.

    • Demonstrate clear growth towards Solution Architecture, leveraging your deep platform knowledge and complex infrastructure domain experience to influence solution design and manage trade-offs effectively.

    • Establish yourself as a key player in ensuring solution success, significantly reducing technical debt and increasing project velocity through your precise requirements and robust UAT strategies.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
