Title: Business Analyst (Jira)

Endeavour Group is Australia’s largest retail drinks network under the Dan Murphy’s and BWS brands. We also run the country's largest portfolio of licensed hotels. Endeavour Group demerged from Woolworths in 2021. As part of the transition, it is taking the opportunity to transform how it operates as an independent business and establish supporting technology.

The Business Analyst will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Program’s Jira Project Tool.

The Business Analyst will play a key role in the successful delivery of a large-scale IT Transformation by managing and undertaking the required business analysis, ensuring a consistent focus on delivering on the program's vision. The Business Analyst will investigate and analyse business problems or opportunities that contribute to improvements in business processes, policies, and IT Systems.

Job Description

● Analyse and identify improvements to processes and/or systems to meet the customer's and business's needs.

● Collaborate with business partners, technology groups, suppliers and customer groups to elicit, analyse, prioritise, validate, document and communicate business requirements, by conducting interviews, workshops and surveys to gather these requirements.

● Develop detailed business process specifications, business requirements, and system functional/non-functional specifications that will drive the desired change to business processes, systems, and enhancement/development activities following the business analysis process framework.

● Maintain and manage the Program’s Jira Project, including:

     ○ Collaborating with Workstream Leads and Project Managers to implement improvements in Jira.

     ○ Create and monitor reporting capability in Jira work items via Dashboards.

     ○ Support the Program Team in bulk updating, editing and deleting Jira work items.

     ○ Monitor the quality of work items in Jira according to the approved Program and work with team                 members to improve data quality where required.

     ○ Identify and communicate Jira efficiencies to the wider Program Team to support delivery.

     ○ Educate the Program Team to understand the Jira structure, workflows, capabilities, and functions.

     ○ Facilitate changes to JIRA’s foundational structure through Program governance for review and approval.

     ○ Draft, submit, and monitor the progression of internal business cases for any enterprise-wide changes to Jira.

 ● Contribute to business case preparation, specifically analysis of the benefits of the proposed solution to deliver ‘desired business outcome’ and associated project costs.

● Develop and maintain appropriately detailed business analysis artefacts and deliverables throughout a project's lifecycle, ensuring they meet the agreed quality standards and fulfil the project reporting needs to support effective governance and audit requirements.

● Support Testing, Training and Implementation activities to ensure the successful delivery of the overall business and technology solutions.

● Demonstrate ownership through proactively identifying, analysing and remedying issues that prevent project outputs or business outcomes from being met.

● Contribute to cultivating a strong commitment to excellent customer and service delivery.

● Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

● Apply and adhere to the organisation’s methodologies, tools and standards.

● Proficient in using various applications, including presentation, spreadsheet, and word processing applications, to convey complex information in a simplified way.

Qualifications

Essential Experience:

● Proven experience (3-5 years) as a Business Analyst or in a similar role, preferably within large-scale transformation programs.

● Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, Agile).

● Knowledge of business analysis tools and techniques (e.g. JIRA, Confluence).

● Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.

● Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with others.

● Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

● Proficient in using applications, including but not limited to presentation, spreadsheet, and word processing applications.

Desirable:

● Relevant business and/or technology tertiary qualifications.

● Retail and/or FMCG experience.

● Business Analysis Certification - CBAP certification or equivalent.

● Lean Six Sigma - Green Belt Certification or equivalent.
